Uncle Austin had his spring break this week and decided he wanted to spend it with us!! So Grambo (grandpa russell) and uncle Austin came in Friday afternoon and left late Sunday. Unfortunately I was scheduled to work all weekend, so I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted to with them...but hey, they didn't come to see me..they came to see Sierra!!!
I did get someone to cover my shift on Sunday so we went to the park and let the guys go fishing. It was such a beautiful day!! It was literally perfect weather. Sierra was so cute!! Casey took an extra pole...it wasn't put together, but to Sierra it was the best thing in the world!! That thing towered over her and she just carried it around like she was so proud!! We were just about to leave cause no one had caught anything, and the guys started to bring in their lines when Austin realized his line was putting up a fight!! lol..he didn't even realize that he had a fish!! Needless to say he was the only one to be able to brag..and the other guys didn't like it!!! lol..
We all sat down and had some lunch, followed by a quick walk through of the nature center. Daddy and Austin still had a bit of a drive ahead of them, so they had to get on the road. (despite my best efforts to make them stay!!!) It was such a fun day. Sierra didn't even make it out of the park before she was asleep in her carseat. Her favorite guys wore her little booty out!!!

Finger Painting
I try to come up with different ideas for crafts....Sierra is 14 months old and well, crafts are not that easy with her. One big mess??? lol...It was a beautiful day and I decided to try finger painting. Thinking that she would love to get messy and enjoy the freedom, we got out the paint and went outside. Yeah, so the opposite!!! I dipped her finger in the paint and spread it on the paper...that was it. She just looked at me like "Are you serious?? You expect me to get messy??" lol...this is a kid who falls on the ground and sits there yelling with her hands reaching out til someone comes and helps her up and I expected her to do something messy?!?!? Well, needless to say, finger painting was a no go....but it was still a beautiful day so we stayed outside and played. Guess it's one of those things that we just try later on and hope she changes her mind.
We finally found a few outside play toys...so now we have a wonderful play set for our little girl to enjoy. The only thing left that we want is a swing. Only problem is that we don't have any trees that are right to hang a swing, so it means building something or buying a set. She loves her play set...she's still weary of the slides, but she knows how to get up to them!! She has no problem climbing up to the top of them, lol...she just won't go down them unless we pretty much push her. She is such a funny girl.
Newho, it's getting late and we've got a busy day tomorrow.
Love to all!!

Sierra's first trip to the beach
So we decided to take a family vacation to the beach. The last time Sierra was at the beach was when I was six months pregnant...lol...short story she loved it. The weather was kinda crappy, but luckily the rain held out and it was just overcast. I took tons of pictures, so I'm posting a link to my myspace account so everyone can view all of them.

Newho, while we were walking on the beach she decided that she was a big girl and refused to hold our hands...I can't believe how big she's getting. She was amazed at all the shells...there were MILLIONS of them all over the place. Of course we picked up a few to bring home. She tried to chase the birds...lol..my silly little girl. It was cute though. She's still a little unstable with walking fast, and imagine that on the sand. It was very cute. We walked pretty far and Sierra decided that she didn't want to walk anymore. It was naptime. She had enough with the walking and just gave up. lol...we tried several times to get her to stand up and walk and nope she didn't want to. Literally she had spagetti legs. Finally we just gave up and carried her. Definitely ready for naptime.
After she woke up we tried the pool. Keep in mind that this kid hates baths lately. Not sure why, cause before she used to love baths...but nope over the past few months, she screams when the water starts to run (BUT she LOVES showers???? LOL). Anyways, she did okay. It took her a few minutes to get used to the water, but finally she came around. She really loved the lazy river...that's when she got to just float around with daddy.
Broadway at the Beach was so much fun. Sierra got to make her first bear, well, bunny. She has several animals from Build a Bear, but it's always been mommy or daddy that makes them for her. This time she picked out what she wanted (with a little help from mommy) and stuffed it herself. Daddy helped her pick out an outfit and she got to dress her bunny. She was very proud of it...she carried that bunny around the rest of the day and slept with it that night.
The one day that was rainy we decided to go to the aquarium. It was so much fun. Sierra was all over the place. She was just amazed by everything. We've got a small fish tank at home and she can sit there and just watch the fish swim, well, just imagine the big tunnel where fish are all around you. The pictures really tell it all.
All in all we had a great time. Can't wait to go back, just wish it were sooner than later. Still tons more to update on, but for the moment I've got to clean my kitchen from lunch time. Kiddo is sleeping, better take advantage of it while I can!!
Love to all!!
